Hectic days, which bring visitors and well-known faces to the city, guests of the most important fashion shows. For those working on the inside everything is a real tour de force, but fashionistas will be able to afford a slower pace, discovering the iconic places of the city linked to fashion.

Here are the exclusive events scheduled for Milan Fashion Week 2023, which ones to attend and what not to miss.

Milan Fashion Week 2023 - 2024: the dates

Model during Milan Fashion Week

The edition of Milano Moda Donna dedicated to the Fall Winter 2023 2024 collections is scheduled from February 21st to the 27th 2023. The most famous Italian brands, from Armani, which is usually among the last to present his creations on the catwalk, to Gucci, through to Moschino, Missoni, Prada, Bottega Veneta, Alberta Ferretti, Cavalli and Dolce&Gabbana..

How to participate in Milan Fashion Week

Piazza del Duomo in Milan

The fashion shows and presentations are reserved above all for insiders and selected guests, but sometimes it happens that some shows are also open to the public. To stay updated on possible participation opportunities, keep an eye on the Camera Nazionale della Moda website which, in the days immediately preceding the fashion shows, publishes the times and locations of all the catwalks and which also has live streaming of the fashion shows.

Once you find out where and when, you can try to see your favorites. Chiara Ferragni is always among the most sought after. A useful piece of information? Influencers are always in the front row at Prada, Alberta Ferretti, Moschino, Versace and Gucci.

Discovering the Quadrilatero della Moda, the fashion heart of Milan

Via Monte Napoleone in Milan

If you love the world of fashion, in the city there are also some unmissable stops to mark on the map. In Piazza Duomo, on the corner with the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a giant screen will be installed which will stream the fashion shows, scheduled in the most beautiful spots of the Milanese capital.

Historic palaces, cloisters, gardens, are transformed into scenographic stages, shows lasting minutes are perfected down to the smallest detail: the music that determines the pace of the models, and the lights, the flowers and the places to sit. To fully take in the atmosphere during these days, take a walk in the fashion district, the quadrilatero della moda in the heart of the city. Its name comes from the fact that it is bordered by four streets: Via Monte Napoleone, Via Manzoni, Via della Spiga and Corso Venezia, where the luxury boutiques of the main Italian and international brands are located in elegant buildings, as well as cafes and antique shops, but also must-see hotels and museums.

At Palazzo Morando, discovering the fashion of the past

Exhibition of dresses at Palazzo Morando

In the heart of the Quadrilatero, for example, in Via Sant'Andrea, there is Palazzo Morando: if you love fashion you cannot miss it, because it hosts two important exhibitions. On the first floor you will find the Pinacoteca, with a collection that illustrates the transformations of the urban fabric and the manifestations of public and private life in the city of Milan between the 17th and 19th centuries.

Also on the first floor, in the New Wing, are the Costume and Fashion Collections, housed here since 2010. On display, a rich heritage of clothes and accessories dating back to the period between the 17th and 21st centuries. It is a constantly expanding exhibition, mostly thanks to donations and acquisitions that over the years have made it possible to enrich the exhibition heritage with pieces signed by the most important Italian stylists. Periodically Palazzo Morando also hosts exhibitions on a fashion theme. It is open Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 to 17.30.

Armani Silos, all you need to know about Giorgio Armani

Exhibition of fashion outfits

In Via Bergognone, a few steps from the Navigli, there is the Armani Silos, the exhibition space dedicated to Giorgio Armani's fashion. Conceived in 2015 by the designer himself, it owes its name to the fact that it stands where a grain warehouse once stood.

Four floors of 4500 square meters, recounting the fashion of King George, from 1980 to today. There are about 600 dresses on display and many accessories that make up the permanent collection. Periodically there are also temporary exhibitions. After the visit, stop by the Armani Cafè for an espresso or an aperitif, away from the chaos of the city. Armani Silos is open from 11:00 to 19:00, from Wednesday to Sunday.
