Monastery of St James Abbey

Overview

In 1976, a museum was set up in the monastery complex to house some valuable artefacts from the early abbey. Noteworthy are a 15th-century polyptych depicting the Madonna and Child, a triptych depicting the Madonna of Mercy and Saints John the Baptist and Jerome, a Madonna in Glory by Luca Martinelli, a St Benedict by Carlo Ceresa and a 16th-century altarpiece with the Pentecost.
