Trevignano Romano

Overview

Lake Bracciano is perhaps the most evocative lake in the entire region, in its perfect balance between water and mountains, between shades of green and deep blue reflections. On its northern shore, at the end of a small gulf that is nothing more than the secondary crater of a volcano, stands Trevignano Romano, a small medieval village where the protagonist is water: this is in fact the ideal place for those who love water sports, fishing, or relaxing in a boat. In the heart of the town, on the other hand, the 16th-century Church of the Assumption into Heaven is a must-see: inside, it houses splendid works of great value, including the fresco in the apse, of the Raphaelesque school, depicting the death of the Madonna and her assumption and coronation into heaven.
