Via del Corso

Overview

The main shopping street of Rome

One and a half kilometres of shops and ateliers to suit all tastes and budgets. Via del Corso is a real must for all shopaholics and, in general, for anyone who wants to experience an all-round “Roman holiday”.

Via del Corso, in fact, promises more than just fashion. It joins Piazza Venezia with Piazza del Popolo, among the most famous squares in Rome, and forms the so-called Tridente with Via del Babuino and Via di Ripetta. All along the route, you will find sites of artistic and cultural interest, such as the Galleria Alberto Sordi shopping arcade, which divides Via del Corso in half with its unmistakable, elegant and timeless Art Nouveau style. It is overlooked by noble residences such as Palazzo Bonaparte, once home to Napoleon’s mother, Palazzo Doria-Pamphilj, with its namesake gallery, and Palazzo Rondanini. There are also plenty of churches, such as the Basilica of SS. Ambrose and Charles on the Corso. Finally, if you are a fan of literature, we recommend visiting the house museum of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
