In San Giovanni in Marignano, on the occasion of the summer solstice, the Night of St John has been celebrated for many centuries. It is a time filled with magic, mystery and influences on objects, animals and, above all, people, so much so that it has always also been known as the Night of the Witches.
Legend has it that at this particular time of the year, witches would gather to cast their spells.
Five days of unmissable performances by Italian and international artists, previews, events, street shows, magicians, jugglers, mimes, musicians, entertainers, fire eaters…
Strolling through the streets of the village on the evenings of the event, you can soak up the alchemy of the magical market, with its handcrafted products, essences, flavours, artefacts and herbal ointments, while at the same time sampling the food and wine offered by local restaurants and associations.
