From 20 to 23 April 2026, Castrovillari will become the capital of children's literature with the Pollicino Book Fest, an event dedicated to books, stories and imagination. At the foot of the Pollino National Park, authors, illustrators and scientists will bring to life a festival designed for children, young people and families, with a programme packed with talks, workshops and shows.
Following the success of its first editions, the festival returns with the theme 'Pollicino è senza paura' (Tom Thumb is Fearless), an invitation to explore the world with curiosity and courage, overcoming fears and pushing boundaries through stories, knowledge and creativity. This common thread runs through the entire programme, providing a platform for stories that stimulate the imagination and build confidence in one’s own abilities.
For one week, the town will host storytelling sessions, theatre performances, interactive workshops and meetings with authors, engaging schools and families in an immersive and inspiring experience. This is an unmissable event for anyone who loves the magic of books and wants to discover the most surprising side of mathematics and science.
