Set in the heart of the Roman villa par excellence of the same name, the Borghese Gallery has 20 frescoed rooms, a wonderful portico and an imposing entrance hall. The museum is a treasure trove of art: Caravaggio, Raphael, Titian, Correggio, Bernini and Canova are among the artists whose works are displayed in the gallery and its vast collection of paintings, sculptures, mosaics and bas-reliefs that each year attract multitudes of visitors. The Borghese Gallery is the only museum in the world with a store room organized as a picture gallery with about 260 paintings and works - all to be discovered.
