09.10.2014 - 16.11.2014
A festival devoted to twentieth century music which does not forget ties with the past, tradition and great Masters: the 23rd edition of the Milano Musica Festival takes place from October 9th to November 15th, with a rich billboard of events located throughout the Lombardy capital.
Chamber, symphonic, electronic, psychedelic and progressive rock music for an event that this year kicks off at the Alcatraz, an historic Milan venue and a temple of contemporary music, with a tribute to the eclectic academicism of Fausto Romitelli, among the most visionary of his generation, in order to celebrate the tenth anniversary of his death. Still in the name of versatility and flexibility, the Festival offers - spread over 10 concerts and 12 insights - works and composers who are mainly unknown to the general public and which are interpreted by the best international performers as well as two appointments at the Teatro alla Scala. The concert by the Filarmonica della Scala on 26th October (at 8.00 pm), in memory and in honour of Claudio Abbado, should not be missed.
As usual, an integral part of the festival consists of the moments of reflection and of meetings between the audience, the performers and the authors; free admission performances and screenings confirm Milan as the city of theatres, fashion and design, the central fulcrum of national art and culture.
