Following the highly successful exhibition of works by Edward Hopper, the Fondazione Roma pays homage to another twentieth century icon of American art: Georgia O’Keeffe. For the first time in Italy, this great historical retrospective explores the complex universe of this artist, who changed the history of modern art through her vision of the natural and architectural forms of the world. The exhibition is promoted by the Fondazione Roma and organised by the Fondazione Roma Arte Musei with Kunsthalle der Hypo-Kulturstiftung, the Helsinki Art Museum and the Arthemisia Group, in partnership with the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. The exhibition will be held in the prestigious halls of the Museum Fondazione Roma, the Palazzo Cipolla, from October 4th, 2011 to January 22nd, 2012. Georgia O'Keeffe is one of the most famous American artists. In 1920 she became a leader of modernist art, enjoying both public success and critics' acclaim. Her production is however little known outside American borders and, although some of the artist's works have been occasionally exhibited in Europe, this retrospective exhibition is the first real opportunity to show to the public the artistic output by O'Keeffe.
