14.06.2013 - 16.06.2013
Lake Bracciano will play host to the only festival for the best Italian lakeside-produced wines.
Now in its sixth year, the event will run June 14-16 at the Complesso Conventuale di Santa Maria Novella, located in Bracciano’s historic center.
Approximately 100 wines from about thirty Italian lakes will make up the labels featured, and vendors from Alto Adige to Sicily will sell their bottles directly to festival-goers.
Additionally, tastings will be offered in the Cloister of the Augustinians, with various stands set up according to the lake of origins. Tastings will be led by sommeliers that are particularly informed on the wines’ relevant geographical territory and terrain. And those that wish to learn more about Bracciano itself have the option of free visits to the local Civic Museum, which is planning rare evening openings for the occasion.
Other activities will include a vote to elect visitors’ favorite wine after the tastings. The winning blend will be named “Laghidivini 2013: il vino preferito dal pubblico”.
Finally, every day will have its own focus, whether it be Rose’ Wines (Vini in Rosa), highlighting the Roses of Lake Garda; Laghidivinibio, regarding the organic wines grown on the shores of Lake Bolsena; or Gelatidivini, paying particular attention to wine and must-based gelatos.
