Hundreds of stands are offering local typical products, but the real star is Consorzio del Prosciutto di San Daniele (San Daniele Cured Ham Consortium), with the full-time distribution of its famous DOP ham (more than 2 million slices are cut each year during the event). The ancient medieval streets and squares offer the visitor something to remember, thanks to their restaurants, ‘prosciutterie’ (ham shops) and inns, transformed into ideal places for theme tastings, while shuttle buses will be available for those wishing to take part in the tour of local ham makers.
