Palazzo Ducale, Urbino

The Duke Federico da Montefeltro, who surrounded himself with great artists, ordered Francesco Laurana to build the magnificent Palazzo Ducale, the finest monument in the town. Here we can visit the National Gallery of the Marche, the most important museum in the region. We are standing before the left facade of the palace which overlooks the valley, with three loggias and two slim towers. Beyond the corso we can see the elegant facade of the Teatro Sanzio, dating from 1853.
