Most tourist Italian cities are provided with special "city cards" (city pass) that allow the access to public transportation and historical and cultural sites as well as discounts on other additional services. It does not exist a standard pattern on "city cards". Each city has its own customized city card. Normally a city card expires after 1 week and its cost ranges from 10 to 50 euros depending on the services it includes, allowing to save up to 40% on normal service rates.
Tourists can buy "city cards" online on the internet, at PIT (tourist information offices) or at other sites operating within the National Tourist Service.
