The 55th Festival dei Due Mondi (Festival of the Two Worlds) takes place in the Umbrian city of Spoleto from June 29th to July 15th. This historic cultural display has reaffirmed itself in the last few years as an event with global resonance. It is a must-see showcase of artistic excellence and competition.
A meeting place between different cultures and a site for artistic experiences originating from all over the world, the prestigious Festival puts on show both famous and emerging artists, and hosts original productions of opera in its most extreme forms. 
Not to be left out, music, dance, theatre and contemporary art will also have their time in the limelight. The Festival dei Due Mondi has seen a revival in recent years, and has demonstrated a unique capacity for integrating new ideas while at the same time evoking great performances and exhibitions of the past.
The Festival is the result of those who have continued to believe in and sustain it – above all, the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, which has maintained its dedicated investment in the project over the years.The 55th edition of the Festival will feature 41 performances, 109 new openings, 2 cinema reviews, a theatre lab, 3 conferences, 2 competitions, 4 prizes, and other special events and art exhibits.
