“Palladio by the hand”: guided tours in and around Vicenza

From April 24 to October 3, 2010 in Vicenza at the weekend, architectural wonders of the area can be visited to admire palaces, mansions and monuments.

All Saturdays and Sundays until October we will be taken by the hand and accompanied around Vicenza and its surroundings to discover the works of Andrea Palladio.
Three are the routes available, to discover some of the most important monuments of this great architect in and around Vicenza: works that have earned Vicenza, along with the Palladian villas in the Veneto, recognition as "UNESCO World Heritage Site”.
The Sunday's itinerary also includes a special trip to Bassano del Grappa, where this year it takes place the opening of the celebrations of the five hundredth anniversary of the birth of the painter Jacopo Dal Ponte, known as Bassano.

Useful information

Guided tours fees vary from 6 to 12 Euros, depending on the route chosen.
Touring club members can benefit from a 10% reduction.

How to get there

By car:
A4 Brescia-Padova Motorway, exit Vicenza Est or Vicenza Ovest. A31 Valdastico Motorway, exit Vicenza Nord.

By plane:
The nearest airports are located in Venice (60 km) and in Verona-Villafranca (60 km).

By train:
Vicenza train station is on the Turin-Trieste railway line.
