Gradara, from August 6th , 2011 to February 5th , 2012 - The exhibition is part of the series of events which have been organized for years ...

The exhibition is part of the series of events which have been organized for years at the state-owned Fortress in Gradara in order to let people become better acquainted with its history and to emphasize its beauty. An exposition of weapons finds its natural placement in Gradara, as the town, with its fortress, was the setting for different war events of great importance back in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance period. Starting with an initial group of 135 pieces, the Zanvettori collection also includes both short and long offensive cold weapons, blunt instruments and throwing weapons, firearms, suits of armour and parts of them, shields and armours for horses, whether for fighting, hunting or parading purposes, both in Western and Eastern style. It will be on display in the same place where it was collected. A teaching laboratory, where, one day a week, visitors can follow the live moments of the renovation works, is also included in the exhibition path. At the end of the exhibition, part of the weapons will remain longer stored in Gradara, as important evidence of the history of the Fortress.
