Genoa, 7 May to 4 September – at the Museum of the Risorgimento, you can experience the ven-ture of the Thousand, thanks to art works of the time and documental evidence from historical archives.

The Expedition Of The Thousand
After the restoration of the Monument to the Thousand of Quarto by Eugenio Baroni, within the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the venture of the Thousand, a hall in the Museum of the Risorgimento is hosting an exhibition by the title: “5 maggio 1915. Il monumento ai Mille tra mito e propaganda” (May 5, 1915. Myth And Propaganda In The Monument To The Thousand) explaining the history of said monument and its unveiling. The displays include the plaster mould of the monument to the Thousand by Eugenio Baroni, made between 1909 and 1910, a sketch of the poster for the unveiling ceremony and the painting on wood, made by Plinio Nomellini, the original hand-written document by Gabriele D’Annunzio, with ”Orazione per la Sagra dei Mille” (Prayer For The Festival Of The Thousand)
