Manchu, the warrior Dynasty.
The last Manchu Dinasty, that ruled the Celestial Empire from 1644 to 1911, will be the protagonist of the fourth exhibition on China: the weapons and the military uniforms of the great Emperors Kangxi and Qianlong, the precious furnishings of the Palace of Mukden and the legendary collections of the Empress Cixi will be exhibited along with the discovered artefacts that testify the collapse of the ancient Chinese Empire and the beginning of the Republic.

The epic deeds of the Last Emperor.
For the very first time, the personal items belonging to the last Emperor of China, Pu Yi, the protagonist of the unforgettable movie entitled “The Last Emperor”, a masterpiece by Bernardo Bertolucci, will leave the Palace in Changchun, ancient capital of the puppet regime called “Manchukuò”, and will be exhibited at Casa dei Carraresi. Part of the exhibition will be dedicated to the epic deeds of the Last Emperor, enriched with historical documents and photographs. The documents and findings coming from the Chinese collections and archives, still unknown in the West and now, for the first time, presented at the exhibition which ends the cycle entitled “The Silk Road and the Chinese Civilization”, will be exhibited here. This event has been included by the Chinese Government in the Official Program of “The Year of China in Italy” and in the celebrations for the fortieth anniversary of the opening of diplomatic relations between Italy and China.
