30.04.2010 - 30.04.2011
In Rome from 30 April to April 2011 - in Palazzo della Cancelleria, Leonardo’s machines spring to life and appear in their full splendour

Leonardo’s tank
More than fifty machines invented by Leonardo da Vinci’s genius are displayed in Rome for a year: the flying machine, a forerunner of the parachute, the “bicycle”, a hydraulic saw and plenty of other machines.
All of these works, absolutely faithful reproductions of the Italian inventor’s drawings, are in perfect working order. Visitors may touch them and try them, so that they will gain a deep direct experience. The machines are grouped into 5 categories. Beside the four elements of life - water, air, earth and fire - there is the new category of “Machine Elements” or Mechanisms, such as motion transformation and the endless screw.
The attraction of the exhibition is, for sure, the Tank: it weighs two tons, its diameter is about six metres and it is three metres tall. The tank may be visited inside.
The exhibition is hosted inside the historical Palazzo della Cancelleria, in Piazza della Cancelleria (next to Piazza Campo de’ Fiori) www.mostradileonardo.com E-mail info@mostradileonardo.com
