The exhibition shows several themes, by means of numerous documents and images, related to the main aspects of the complex relationship existing between man and work, going from the sixteenth up to the twentieth century, that is the historical process which had led to its evolution. The research, focusing on the province of Reggio Calabria, traces the human history of work into five sections and outlines the participation, often silent and essential, of women and children in the production cycle. Particular attention is paid to the everyday risks and dangers pertaining to the working activities and to the development of the idea of help and solidarity with the workers and the victims of work.
