The travelling exhibition entitled "A journey through Italy" was realised as a creative contribution to the celebrations for 150 years from the unification of Italy and consists of a series of works made of different materials that reproduce all the Italian regions.
The journey of Giulio Galgani continues directly "in the motorway", with a unique stop in the service area hosted by West Arno Chef Express, located in the south direction, shortly after the exit of Incisa-Reggello.
The “geopictures” by Giulio Galgani are made of milled pneumatic, bronze and acrylics on wood, as an encounter between tradition and innovation, antiquity and contemporary time. These works are based on the morphology of each region, showing a three-dimensional representation of the geographical, cultural and artistic elements that represent the most typical aspects of each place, and, at the same time, suggesting a deeper reflection on the local, national and global history.
The traveller stopping in this space will have the opportunity to think over the meaning of his own travelling experience, his own roots and history. Therefore, the exhibition of Galgani transfers the conceptual meaning by which it is inspired into the more concrete, lively and daily context of the travel.
