Gorgeously framed by Villa La Sforzesca and Monte Amiata at Castell’Azzara, the Flower Film Festival will run in its 6th year from July 11-15, 2012. The International festival, an idea originally conceived by the Palladium Production Association, features a competition and a series of film montages expounding on themes of art and nature.

Castell’Azzara, a medieval borgo situated in front of the suggestive and panoramic Monte Amiata, is also a stop on the famous Via Francigena, where in 1500 inhabitants were already hunting black truffles, typical product of this area in Tuscany. The black truffle will feature as the festival’s chapeau, entitled Dentro la Terra: Tartufo (Inside the Earth: The Truffle).

For Flower Film Festival 2012, not only cinema but also numerous activities celebrating nature and the fruits of the land are on the programme, including tastings; truffle-hunting parties; exhibits and artistic installations; workshops; book presentations and classical, jazz and contemporary concerts and encounters with actors, directors and other personalities.

A display-container that again this year offers to tourist and the general public a programme that is rich in its initiatives: Flower Cinematography with projections of films d’auteur, Flower Art with exhibits and guided tours of Villa La Sforzesca, Flower En Regard with a cinema montage on art forms and a film presentation by Adriano Kestenholz, Flower Books with dedicated encounters and book presentations, Flower Musica with concerts, and Flower Ambiente e Territorio with debates on the valorization of UNESCO environmental and architectural World Heritage Sites, also to feature the President of the Italian Environmental Fund (FAI) Ilaria Borletti Buitoni.
