The Festival of folklore and European culture was first born in 1964, and it has traveled Europe ever since, taking place every year in a different city. This year,  Padua , one of the Veneto region’s truly lovely cities – with its Prato della Valle, Scrovegni Chapel, and  Basilica of Saint Anthony, among other sites – has been chosen to host.Many have already arrived from all parts of Europe to celebrate and display their traditions, songs and dances. In fact, 250 folkloristic music and dance groups from around the Continent will participate in Europeade 2012, for a total of 4,000 individual folkloristic artists.

L'Europeade is an opportunity for encounter, exchange and enrichment via under standing the experiences of others. 
The Festival will fill various streets of Padua’s city center, while Prato della Valle will be the main venue for a programme rich in performances. One of the stand-outs among these is the suggestive Dance of Nations.
