In Bazzano (Bologna) until the 5th April there is the exhibition “Etruscan Riders of the Po valleys. Between Reno and Panaro during the VII and VII cetury A.C.” to discover the first Iron age on the West of Bologna.

Detail of the Rocca dei Bentivoglio in Bazzano (Bologna).
The above mentioned exhibition has been organised by the Museo Civico Archeologico “Arsenio Crespellani” of Bazzano, Fondazione Rocca dei Bentivoglio and Municipality of Bazzano and it is dedicated to the settlement in the Samoggia valley during the first Iron age and it is an important moment to show the witnesses of Villanova coming form the valley and showed as a whole for the first time.
Beyond the complex of Samoggia, also important funerary contests coming for the valleys of Reno, Panaro and Arno are showed. They can be related to high rank people: for example an important tomb of Casalecchio di Reno with a decorated funerary stele.
The exhibition is focused on the Etruscan rider, whose characteristics are showed by findings such as weapons, harnessings and horse-gear, as evidence that they had a horse and it was included in the funerary complement.
