16.11.2011 - 12.02.2012
Milan, from November 16th, 2011 to February 12th, 2012 – At the Permanente art and music come together for a unique exhibition

The exhibition "From Bacon to the Beatles. New images in Europe in the years of rock music" retraces the main steps of an iconic research that characterised the '50s and the '60s, up to the '70s, with a pop-rock music soundtrack going from the debut of Elvis Presley till the song entitled "Let it Be" by the Beatles.
The Permanente commemorates that experimental period with an unusual exhibition where a soundtrack, mixing musical suggestions and comments on the works exhibited, will accompany visitors in an unprecedented journey.
There are 70 works on display, among which: Francis Bacon, Karel Appel, Jean Dubuffet, Asger Jorn, Cèsar, Fritz Wotruba, Mario Schifano, Alberto Giacometti, Mimmo Rotella, Franco Angeli, Enrico Baj, Gianfranco Ferroni, Richard Hamilton, Peter Klasen, Augusto Perez, Patrick Hughes, Irving Petlin and Peter Blake, author of the famous cover of Sgt. Pepper's by the Beatles.
