On the east-central coast of Italy, in the Province of Teramo, the medieval borgo of Castelbasso is today a meeting site for art and culture, while the Bourbon Fort of Civitella del Tronto, one of the most important and suggestive historical sites in Abruzzo, will host an art exhibit entitled "VISIONI. La fortezza plural dell’arte."

This celebration of culture begins June 30, uniting contemporary art and culture within a territory rich in history and beauty, from the past to the future. 

The Malvina Menegaz Foundation for Arts and Culture, and the Cultural Naca Art Association are promoting the event with the goal of rediscovering the realities of identity and cultural production. 

Within the scope of the Castelbasso 2012 project, the old borgo will feature the exhibits "Carla Accardi. Smarrire I fili della voce" and "RADICI. Memoria, identità e cambiamento nell’arte di oggi."

The Fort, “Multiplier of Art,” becomes a crossroads of the visual arts: the works of international artists take on diverse media including paint and performance, as well as a series of projections that have formed to create cinematic works in their own right.
