26.11.2011 - 11.03.2011
Aosta, from November 26th, 2011 to March 11th, 2012 - The exhibition pays homage to Andy Warhol, an eclectic and beloved artist, now protagonist in Aosta

The exhibition dedicated to Andy Warhol has just been inaugurated at the Saint-Bénin Cultural Centre, a leading exponent of the American Pop Art and a cult artist, one of the most famous ones of the twentieth century.
The exhibition houses more than seventy works, realised by Andy Warhol between 1957 and 1987, unique pieces, screen printings and graphic works from 23 prestigious collections, selected so as to document the entire artistic life of the author.
Among the whole output, there are his best known and most popular works all over the world, dating back to the '60s and the '70s, from Mao to Marilyn Monroe, from Mick Jagger to Liza Minelli, as well as one of his most effective and astonishing self-portrait. Nevertheless, there are other less known sujects to whom the American painter completely devoted himself, still with the same inventiveness and the same fervour: the Space Fruits, the Campbell's Soups, the Carton Boxes, the Flowers and the most famous Covers, sought by all record collectors. The exhibition also focuses on the most intimate works by Warhol, closer to his European roots, thus contributing to revisit his deepest artistic poetics.
