Siracusa

We are strolling around one of the largest Greek colonies in the west, for centuries the principal Sicilian city. The imposing traces of its prestigious past surface everywhere in the land around Siracusa, like the Temple of Apollo, an urban preview of the extraordinary archaeological park and museum. The temple, erected between the end of the seventh century and the start of the sixth century BC, is the oldest example of a Doric temple in Sicily.
