Via del Teatro Romano

As often happens in Italy, this Roman theatre dating from the second century AD is still used for summer theatre performances. Its remains were brought to light in 1938 and we know that it could house up to 6,000 spectators. The cultural life of Trieste is evident in every corner of the city, also in the cafès, ever a meeting place for discussing politics, literature and philosophy.
