We are in Santa Giulia, the splendid museum in Brescia which is housed in a convent of Longobard origin, built on an area occupied in Roman times by important residences. The complex also includes the Longobard basilica of San Salvatore - in which we stand - and its crypt, the chapel of Santa Maria in Solario, the Coro delle Monache (the nuns' choir), the church of Santa Giulia and the cloisters. There are around 11,000 items on display, amongst which the symbol of the city, the Winged Victory, a large bronze from the Capitoline Temple, is worthy of note.
