Urbino, a splendid pearl of a city within the Marches Region, is home to the Montefeltro Ducal Palace and its gallery that holds the famous painting of "The Flagellation of Christ." Painted by Piero della Francesca, it is considered by art historians to be a certified enigma. The mystery connected to this masterpiece, rich in esoteric symbols, has been solved thanks to the Italian Scientific Police and to the work of a graphic artist from Urbino, Duccio Alessandri.
