Rome: the magnificence of the Colonna

Palazzo Colonna stands between Piazza Venezia and Trevi Fountain. It represents one of the richest buildings in the capital in terms of art and history. The magnificence of Galleria Colonna, full of ancient paintings, majestic dressers and gilded plasters, reminds of the glory of Versailles. The gallery was inaugurated in early 1700, although there are some elements dating back to 1400. Palazzo Colonna is also known to the general public as the set of the movie “Roman Holiday”.
