Monza and the treasure of Teodolinda

In the heart of Monza, the Chapter House Museum of Duomo Filippo Serpero preserves famous ancient works of the late Roman period and early Middle Ages, such as the ornaments donated by the Queen of the Lombards Teodolinda. Later on, the Treasury has been increased by the king of Italy, Berengar I, and by the Visconti family. Queen Teodolinda, in 595, founded a church dedicated to St. John the Baptist, adorned with gold and silver objects. This church has also been endowed of many lands.
