Campitello Matese is one of the most important tourist destinations in Molise and the snowiest ski resort in Central-Southern Italy.
This mountain plain is located on the interior of the Massif of Matese. Behind it stand Mt. Miletto - the highest point of the group - along with other important mounts, like Monte Croce and the Gallinola.
Surrounded by pristine landscapes, it is one of the biggest touristic draws in Molise, and well-known as one of the ski resorts with the most snowfall in Central-Southern Italy.
In winter its ample network of slopes is ideal for skiers and for practicing other winter sports on the fresh snow, while its silent woods and extended beech forests are perfect for snowshoeing and enjoying the beauties of nature.
In summer, Campitello Matese is a good departure point for naturalistic tours around the Matese region.
Tourists can arrive at the summit of Mt. Miletto (8,202 ft above sea level) - using the chair-lift that departs from the center - to enjoy the wonderful landscapes of this region.
