An ancient and sophisticated village overlooking a sea of indescribable beauty: this is Portofino, the Italian gem, always attended by prominent personalities from the worlds of entertainment, culture and finance.
The colourful houses are placed close together, like pieces of a precious mosaic at the foot of the hill covered with lush vegetation that surrounds elegant villas. In the small indentation of the coast nestles the famous "Piazzetta", the heart of fashionable Portofino, overlooking the picturesque harbour, populated by small fishing boats and luxurious yachts.
The sea surrounding the promontory is a marine protected area, established to protect the richness and rarity of the seabed populated by sea fans, sponges, corals, seagrass meadows, and the precious red coral. The irregular shape of the seafloor encompasses diverse micro environments, each of them having hundreds of animal and plant species.
Finally, a statue of Jesus Christ is positioned in the depths of Saint Fruttuoso's bay, it is called Christ of the Abysses.
