The World Tourism Day is a good occasion to highlight and promote Italian excellence. Cuisine has always been one of Italy's strenghts, enhancing the country's image in the world. For this reason, Michela Vittoria Brambilla, Italy's Minister of Tourism, decided to make Italian cuisine the leading character of this year's event. The best of Italian food and wine has been celebrated during the World Tourism Day event, held in Milan. On this occasion,  as per Minister Brambilla's decision, prestigious acknowledgments have been given to the masters of Italian cuisine.

The World Tourism Day is also a good occasion to celebrate all together. In collaboration with FIPE (Federazione Italiana Pubblici Esercizi), the Italian Federation of Public Concerns, a great number of Italian restaurants have been involved in the promotion of the history and traditions of Italian cuisine. Tourists and gourmets will have the opportunity to taste the most typical dish of each region, the dish that best represents local traditions, the rich culture and quality that only Italy can offer.  Italian cuisine has always been synonymous with great passion and professionalism. It contributes to enhance the country's positive image, at the same time strengthening its identity.
