Basilica of Sant'Ambrogio, the patron of Milan

The basilica of Sant'Ambrogio, founded in the fourth century, receives us in the solemn, rectangular, porticoed atrium. In the background is the gabled facade, through which we access the church. Inside we can admire treasures such as the parchment composed of fragments from the eleventh century and the tabernacle under a canopy adorned with tenth century stucco decorations, above the altarpiece, a splendid example of the goldsmith's art dating from 835.
